Tickets are on sale now for 2018 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Ticket prices start at $95/person plus tax, and this year the magic Kingdom will revel in holiday magic on 22 dates.

Though the party itself doesn’t begin until 7:00 p.m., guests will be able to enter the Magic Kingdom with a party ticket beginning at 4:00 p.m. on party nights. Last year, a slightly different entry procedure was used for MVMCP than was used for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties. While the Magic Kingdom moves from day guest to party mode abruptly at 7:00 p.m. for Halloween parties, for Christmas parties there’s a one-hour transition period. The Magic Kingdom closed to guests with regular tickets at 6:00 p.m., with the party officially beginning at 7:00 p.m. No announcement has been made yet whether that procedure will be followed again this year.

While the Magic Kingdom is always beautifully decorated for the holiday season, there are a number of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party favorites returning for 2018 that make these parties extra-special holiday celebrations. Special entertainment includes Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade; “Holiday Wishes,” fireworks spectacular; “A Frozen Holiday Wish,” featuring Queen Elsa using her incredible powers to present a gift to everyone in the kingdom—transforming Cinderella Castle into a sparkling, icy centerpiece for the celebration; and the jubilant show, “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration.”

Some of our favorite Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party elements are, perhaps, less dramatic, but really make the night special. Many characters not usually seen in the theme parks are out for the holiday party, and characters you do see more often are frequently wearing their special holiday finery. Party time is often the only chance for these unique photo opportunities. And recent years have featured a great upgrade to the longstanding party tradition of cookies and hot chocolate, distributed at no additional cost all around the Magic Kingdom. Each location now distributes a unique holiday treat. While this year’s menu has not yet been released, last year’s offerings included: Snowman Soft Pretzel and Sno-Cone; DOVE® Chocolate candy and Sparkling Apple Cider; Peppermint Crunch Cookie and chocolate milk; Ginger Molasses Cookie and Eggnog; Snickerdoodle Cookie and Hot Chocolate; and Santa Claus Cookie and Sno-Cone.

Party tickets are currently only available for purchase via phone. Online purchases will begin April 17, 2018. But the easiest option is to have your Mouse Master Travel agent include party tickets with your vacation package.
