Alexandra’s Walt Disney World Bucket List
We all have that list in the back of our minds.
That list of places we’d like to visit or experiences we’d like to have. That’s right; I’m referring to what is commonly known as the “bucket list.” I certainly have a bucket list that encompasses a whole host of experiences from seeing the pyramids of Egypt to whale watching in Alaska to visiting the Grand Canyon. But as lover of all things Disney, I also harbor a Disney bucket list. Yes, you heard me right, there is a whole list that I have compiled in my brain of experiences that I would love to have in my lifetime at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. So, for your social media skimming pleasure, here are just five of the experiences on my Walt Disney World Bucket List:
1. Eat and Drink Myself Around the World at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
Although I have been to Walt Disney World a number of times throughout my life, I have never experienced the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. The festival runs from the end of August through November and offers guests the chance to enjoy samples of cuisine and wines from all the countries in the World Showcase. Honestly, as a self-proclaimed wine and food lover, I don’t know how it’s possible that I have yet to attend this event. That being said, I have already informed my husband that this will probably be out ten-year anniversary trip.
2. Stay in a Club-Level room at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
The only time I have ever stayed at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was when I was still in diapers, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. On our last trip to Walt Disney World, my husband and I took our daughter, who was three at the time, to the Cinderella character dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We marveled at the magnificence of the lobby and took in the music of the live brass band. It was truly magical for all of us. Currently our Disney vacation budget typically places us at a value or moderate resort, but our hope for the future is to one day splurge for a stay in a club-level Grand Floridian room. (This might be something we reserve as a second honeymoon, without the kiddos.)
3. Experience Walt Disney World decorated for Halloween & Christmas, ON THE SAME TRIP
I have friends who have accomplished this very thing. At the beginning of November the Magic Kingdom goes through a transition from Halloween to Christmas. When the dates fall just right, you can enjoy the last Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party at the beginning of the trip, and the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the end of the trip. How cool would it be to spend that week at Walt Disney World and get to experience both holidays in the same week?
4. Participate in a runDisney event
I’m not sure I will ever achieve this one, as I am not really a runner, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the experience of running in a runDisney race. I mean, who doesn’t want to get all dressed up like their favorite Disney princess or villain, go racing through the parks with a gang of Disney fanatics, and then reward themselves with an ice cold Dole whip or Mickey bar once it’s all over? IF I ever enter any kind of race, then it will most likely be a runDisney race.
5. Take a WDW VIP Private Tour
What could be better than the royal treatment with your own personal guide and human fast pass to all the attractions you could possibly want to do while vacationing in Walt Disney World? Look, I love vacationing at Walt Disney World no matter the circumstances, but man, it would be cool to experience VIP access just once.
So, there you have it. Five of the items on my Walt Disney World Bucket List. I definitely have more, some more achievable than others, and I could also come up with a pretty lengthy list that encompasses all kinds of Disney destination vacations. That being said, I truly believe that Walt Disney World is one of the happiest places for people of all ages, and I can’t wait to plan my next vacation. More than that, I love sharing Disney destination travel with others. So, if you are thinking about a Disney destination vacation in your future, please reach out. I would love to share my love of Disney destination travel, and make your travel planning as hassle-free as possible. Have a magical day!
