2017 Walt Disney World Dining Plans

Last month, Walt Disney World opened booking for calendar year 2017 (up to 499 days in advance). With that announcement came a few changes. Two high-end Magic Your Way packages, the Premium Plan and the Platinum Plan, were discontinued. In a nod to guests’ interest in being able to choose healthier options, rather than include dessert as part of a Quick Service Combo Meal, both the Quick Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan include a second Snack Credit for each night of a guests’ stay instead of dessert with Quick Service meals. The snack credit is substantially more flexible than choosing between the two or three dessert options on a Quick Service restaurant menu. It could be used for a dessert-type item, like a Dole Whip, or a healthier alternative, like a piece of fruit.

Dining plans remain available only to Walt Disney World resort guests on a Magic Your Way package. All guests on a reservation must have the same package inclusions. Remember, dining credits are based on the number of nights that are part of the guests’ vacation package, not the number of ticket days.

Here’s a summary of 2017 dining plan pricing and inclusions:
Note: An additional price increase was quietly introduced along with the ticket price increases in February, 2017. The prices listed below have been updated to reflect prices current at least as of June 19, 2018

Prices updated to reflect February 2017 increase.

Inclusions

1 Quick Service Meal Credit per person per night

1 Table Service Meal Credit per person per night

2 Snack Credits per person per night

1 Souvenir drink mug per person (refillable for free at WDW resort hotel quick service locations)

A Quick Service Credit can be exchanged for:

A Table Service Meal Credit can be exchanged for:

Table Service Notes

• Adult and Child Table Service Credits are separate – Child credits must be used to order from the Children’s Menu, if a Children’s Menu is offered.

• Dessert is no longer included as part of a Table Service breakfast

• Gratuities are not covered by the dining plan. Expect to tip your server at a table service restaurant 18%-20%. Even if you are paying with a Dining Plan credit, you will be presented with a bill that lists the price of your meal, to assist you in calculating an appropriate gratuity.

• A small subset of Walt Disney World table service restaurants are designated as Signature Dining experiences. Signature Dining and Dinner Shows can be paid for using Table Service credits, but will require 2 credits per person.

Deluxe Dining Plan

Price
Adult (Age 10+) – $106.68/night
Child (Age 3-9) – $38.75/night
Prices updated to reflect February 2017 increase.

Inclusions
3 Meal Credits per person per night
2 Snack Credits per person per night
1 Souvenir drink mug per person (refillable for free at WDW resort hotel quick service locations)

Notes about the Deluxe Dining Plan:
• Each Meal Credit can be used as either a Quick Service credit or a Table Service credit (the 2 Credit charge for Signature Dining experiences and Dinner Shows still applies)
• Table Service lunch and dinner meals purchased with a Deluxe Dining Plan credit include an appetizer, in addition to the entrée, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage
• While the prices of the other dining plans edged up about 5.5% for 2017, the price of the Deluxe Dining Plan goes down by about 10%.
An additional price increase took place in February 2017. While the February increases were, in general, quite small, the largest increase was applied to the cost of the Deluxe Dining Plan.
