Every year, every Mouse Master℠ Travel professional renews their commitment to these
Seven Standards of Professional Conduct
1I will maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all people, including colleagues, guests, vendors, clients and business partners, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. I will not discriminate against any individual or deny them goods or services based on any of these characteristics. I will provide goods and services to everyone on the same terms.
2I will maintain a high level of attentiveness and responsiveness to clients. I will strive to return all contacts within six hours, if received during regular working hours, or within 18 hours when received outside of regular working hours.
3I will treat all people, including colleagues, clients, vendor and supplier representatives and others in a respectful manner at all times. The inability or unwillingness to do what I need from them neither permits nor excuses rude or abusive behavior.
4At live travel agent training sessions: I will arrive on time, dress and comport myself professionally, pay attention to presenters and take reasonable amounts of offered materials. I will not engage in behaviors that are distracting to other attendees, and will not leave early without good reason and only after politely excusing myself.
5 In online forums, I will not engage in emotional arguments (sometimes referred to as “flame wars”) about travel destinations, policies, professional practices, travelers, etc. Participation in travel agent-only forums can be valuable and helpful, but I will not expect my colleagues to do my work for me.
6 I will not solicit clients when at a vacation destination. I will provide a business card if one is requested, but I will not initiate an offer. I will respect the business relationships my colleagues have with their clients. A client may choose to shop for a new agent, but I will not knowingly pursue a prospect who is already working with a travel professional.
7 I will not recommend an option to a client based on the commission rate, agent incentives being offered, agent contests or other inducements by suppliers, vendors, or destinations. I understand that making or recommending a booking to a client based on anything other than the client’s best interests is a basis for immediate termination of my contract, for cause.
